This year, Hinenu’s Sukkah will be located at the home of the Serpick family in Mount Washington! All of the following events will take place there unless otherwise noted. Email sharkparty18@gmail.com for the address. Transit: 94 bus, three-block walk from stop at corner of Ken Oak and Pimlico; Lightrail to Mt. Washington, approximate 1 mile walk.

We invite you to participate in the custom of Ushpizin with us! Ushpizin (Aramaic for “guests”) is a ritual that dates back to early Kabbalah literature in which we not only invite each other as guests into the Sukkah during the holiday, we also invite symbolic, spiritual guests. Traditionally, these include biblical patriarchs and matriarchs. Modern practices include inviting significant Jewish figures from recent history, as well as family and community members who are no longer with us. This is an opportunity to learn from those who came before us and to be inspired to live our lives accordingly. We invite you to bring photos of ancestors, loved ones, icons, people that inspire you that you wish to invoke in our shared space. (Feel free to print out pictures, bring photos, or draw them!)
